The Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) has announced the Gala and Special Presentations programmes for its 51st edition, unveiling more than 60 films from acclaimed international auteurs, major studio filmmakers and emerging voices. The festival runs from September 10 to 20 in Toronto.

Among the headline titles are Ink by Danny Boyle, The Debut by Jesse Eisenberg, Possible Love by Lee Chang-dong, Bitter Christmas by Pedro Almodóvar, Hirokazu Kore-eda’s latest feature, All of a Sudden by Ryûsuke Hamaguchi, Tender Loving Care by Mike Leigh, Bunker by Florian Zeller and a new film by Andrey Zvyagintsev.

The line-up also includes several high-profile world premieres such as Misty Green by Chris Rock, I Play Rocky by Peter Farrelly, Courteney Cox’s directorial debut Evil Genius and Always Lalisa, a documentary on BLACKPINK member Lisa.

The announcement further strengthens the festival’s position as a key stop on the autumn awards circuit. Several titles, including Ink by Danny Boyle, The Debut by Jesse Eisenberg and Possible Love by Lee Chang-dong, will arrive in Toronto following their Venice premieres.

TIFF has also confirmed that Villeneuve: The Rise of a Legend, directed by Yan Lanouette Turgeon, will close this year’s festival. The biographical drama chronicles the life of Canadian Formula One legend Gilles Villeneuve. Opening Night honours will go to Being Heumann by Siân Heder, which was announced earlier this month.

The festival will continue unveiling its 2026 programme over the coming days, with announcements for Platform, Discovery, Primetime, Centrepiece, Wavelengths, TIFF Docs, Short Cuts and Midnight Madness still to come.
