Filmmaker Anurag Kashyap has launched Oh Flip Shorts, a YouTube channel dedicated to showcasing independent short films. Conceived as a curated platform for emerging filmmakers, the initiative will release one short film every month, beginning with Ravi Muppa's Incognito, which premieres on July 15.

Produced by Ranjan Singh, Oh Flip Shorts is curated by Kashyap, who will personally select films for the platform while inviting established filmmakers to present individual titles. The aim is to provide a consistent exhibition space for short-form cinema, a format that has historically struggled to find audiences outside the festival circuit.

"Short films are often the first real step for a filmmaker to discover their voice and experiment with storytelling," Kashyap said in a statement. "Through Oh Flip Shorts, I want to bring remarkable films to audiences and create a platform where emerging talent can be discovered."

The inaugural release, Incognito, is a psychological thriller written and directed by Ravi Muppa. The film follows a motel receptionist who secretly profits from hidden-camera recordings until he captures footage of a young woman who appears to be the victim of human trafficking, forcing him to confront the consequences of his actions.

The short stars Vikram Singh, Ayushi Nema and Dev Chauhan. Muppa has previously worked on Stree, Bala and The Family Man.

Incognito is presented by Kashyap and Vikramaditya Motwane. Describing the film, Motwane called it "a gripping genre short with an unexpected ending." According to the filmmakers, it has screened at more than 20 international film festivals, including Palm Springs International ShortFest, and is currently being developed into a feature film with Hollywood-based Invention Studios, Flip Films and Campfire Studios.

While Indian short films have gained increasing visibility at international festivals in recent years, exhibition opportunities remain limited beyond festival screenings and occasional streaming acquisitions. With its monthly release model on YouTube, Oh Flip Shorts seeks to create a sustained digital platform for independent short-form filmmaking.
